DIAPHRAGM VALVE

A valve in which the closure member is in the form of an elastomeric diaphragm which is lifted from and lowered onto the body seat by a compressor whose axis is perpendicular to the face of the body seat. The diaphragm isolates the medium controlled by the valve from the atmosphere and from the operating mechanism.
